Sustainable pulp packaging materials are becoming increasingly important in the field of environmental protection, and their quality testing is the key to ensuring performance and environmental benefits.

Appearance testing is the first step. Professionals carefully observe the surface of pulp packaging materials under natural light to check whether there are obvious defects such as wrinkles, tears, holes, etc. At the same time, pay attention to whether its color is uniform and whether there are areas with inconsistent color.

Physical property testing is essential. Paper strength testing includes tensile strength and tear strength. In the tensile test, the material is subjected to tensile force by a tensile testing machine, and the tensile force value and elongation at the time of fracture are recorded to evaluate the tensile properties of the material. The tear test simulates the force of the material in use and tests its ability to resist tearing.

Air permeability testing is also very critical. Using an air permeability tester, a certain pressure of gas is passed through the packaging material, and the amount of gas passing through is measured within a specified time to determine the air permeability of the material. Appropriate air permeability can maintain a moderate exchange of air in the package.

Chemical property testing is the key link of testing. Analyze the chemical composition of packaging materials to detect whether heavy metals, harmful chemicals, etc. exceed the standard to ensure that they meet environmental standards. At the same time, it is also necessary to test the chemical stability of the materials under simulated use conditions.

Microbial testing should not be ignored either. Take an appropriate amount of packaging material samples, cultivate microorganisms under specific environmental conditions, observe their growth, and determine whether the materials have the risk of microbial growth.

Through this series of complete and scientific testing processes, the quality and performance of sustainable pulp packaging materials can be comprehensively evaluated, providing a reliable basis for the promotion and application of environmentally friendly packaging, and ensuring that they play an environmentally friendly and practical role in actual use.
